These awards focus on a big three-week stretch of news from June 30, the day of the Toledo council bribery charges, to the week of July 20, when Ohio bribery charges were announced. During this period, a Toledo police officer also was killed in the line of duty.
Meet intern Conor Johnson
Conor will be a senior at Yale, majoring in neuroscience. Conor is a former reporter for the Yale Daily News, where he covered politics and science. He also was managing editor of the Yale Scientific, a science journalism publication on campus.

Emily is a prospective English and Philosophy major at Yale. On campus, she is a reporter for the Yale Daily News. She also is an associate editor for The Yale Politic, one of school’s long-form magazine publications.
