3 win Eddy Awards in August
Shannon Kolkedy
Shannon Kolkedy wins the Desk Eddy for essentially working multiple desks. In recent weeks, Shannon has been doing her features layout job, which recently merged into a universal copy desk. On many evenings, she’s helping on the copy desks. We appreciate her ability to juggle and willingness to help out. Shannon keeps great command over her pages.
She also troubleshoots in the features department when Mike Pearson is away.
Taylor Freyer
When colleagues have a question, they can count on Taylor Freyer. She wins the Digital Eddy this month for all she’s done to help train others and also for being a liaison with the marketing department when it comes to promos and other questions. We also appreciate the daily analytics she provides to us.
Joe Landsberger
Joe Landsberger made a change in August from the features area to the web desk. He wins the Visual Eddy for his work with graphics and for his efforts to learn the web desk operation. Joe created some strong visuals with the city desk’s gambling addition story and also the Land Bank story.
These displays added value to both stories.
Each winner receives a $50 gas card. Nominations for September Eddy Awards can be sent at any time to Kim, but the deadline for entries is Monday, Oct. 1 at 9 a.m.
