Meet Lizzie Heintz

Hi! I’m Lizzie, the newest photojournalist in the photo department making my Toledo debut.

I was born in London (which makes me a dual citizen), where I lived for several years before moving to Chicago and then to Houston.

I graduated from Emerson College in Boston a year early in May 2021 before moving to Orlando to complete my photo internship with the Orlando Sentinel, where I covered the fifth anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub shooting.

In college, my video footage of Boston’s “Straight Pride” was used in VICE’s mini-documentary series Hysteria, and my breaking news coverage of Houston’s Hurricane Harvey propelled me to pursue photojournalism full time.

I love jumping head-first into new environments and situations, and I’m so excited to continue my journalistic journey with The Blade!
