Meet Kelly Kaczala

My name is Kelly. I am the new Blade reporter covering Toledo City Council and the mayor’s office.

I graduated from the University of Toledo, with a major in political science and history. After I graduated, I was hired as a reporter for The Journal, a daily newspaper in Lorain, Ohio. I then worked for The Press Newspapers in Millbury, Ohio, as an investigative journalist; I was eventually promoted to news editor, though I continued to work as an investigative journalist, which is my main passion.

On my days off, I like gardening, traveling, baking and cooking, listening to podcasts on true crime, and being co-administrator of a Facebook group on cold cases and missing persons, which currently has over 12,000 members. I also am very involved in animal welfare.
