Meet Will Tomer

Will is a copy editor working with The Blade’s NewsSlide team.

He graduated from Beloit College in Beloit, Wis., last month with a degree in history. He was the editor-in-chief of his college paper, The Round Table, for two years and had an editorial internship at USA TODAY.

Will also served as the associate editor for The 405, a UK music and culture magazine. He has interviewed bands such as The Lumineers, Wavves, Neon Indian and Youth Lagoon.

While music has been the focus of much of Will’s writing, he has also written extensively about professional hockey. His columns on the Pittsburgh Penguins were featured on The Hockey Writers and SI.com.

Will is a Pittsburgh native who roots for the Penguins (exciting!) and the Pirates (sad!). He has a girlfriend who lives out of town, so for now he enjoys reading true crime, watching movies, playing video games, listening to music and hanging out with his guinea pig, Al.
