December Eddy Award winners
Jackie Powell
The NEWS EDDY goes to Jackie Powell for taking on more responsibilities in the newsroom, including payroll. In addition, she also planned a nice holiday party that everyone was able to enjoy. (Jackie made sure that several of her own decorative Santas were in attendance.) Jackie is able to multi-task in many ways and we appreciate her varied contributions.
Rob Garcia
The VISUAL EDDY is awarded to Rob Garcia for coming up with a new planning budget. After much discussion, and some suggestions for changes, the master budget is now in use.
We thank Robert for a more user-friendly budget that has fewer steps for viewing what’s happening daily and in the future.
Karen Gidcumb
The DESK EDDY goes to Karen Gidcumb. During the holiday season when staffing was stretched in all departments, Karen showcased her versatility and handled her regular Blade NewsSlide and digital responsibilities, while also working as a copy editor and page designer for the features team.
Jackie, Rob, and Karen each receive a $50 gas card.
Nominations for January Eddy Awards can be made at any time during the month but must be to Kim Bates by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
