Meet intern Allison Chen

Allison is a summer intern at The Blade and a rising Yale junior studying economics and political science.

At Yale, she is the managing editor of The Yale Politic, Yale’s undergraduate political monthly. She previously served as an associate editor for The Yale Globalist, the culture editor for The Yale Herald, and as a staff writer for Yale Daily News.

Allison has covered stories ranging from a Yale medical school professor’s sexual assault case and its repercussions in campus culture and administration, to Moroccan argan oil cooperatives’ development of female economic independence within a Muslim state.

Allison also enjoys theater and dance. At Yale she has acted in a Mainstage play and other productions. Last summer, she traveled to Qingzhou, China, with Yale Building Bridges to teach gender education, with topics ranging from female infanticide to sex education, to Chinese high school students.

From blazing hot Arizona, she looks forward to reporting for The Blade and exploring Toledo!
