Meet Emily Tian

Emily is spending the summer of 2020 as an intern for The Blade.

She is a prospective English and Philosophy major at Yale. On campus, she is a reporter for the Yale Daily News and spent this past semester covering Greek life and campus culture. She also is an associate editor for The Yale Politic, one of school’s long-form magazine publications.

Outside of journalism, Emily is interested in creative writing and poetry, and has served on the staff of Electric Literature and The Adroit Journal. She’s involved in Yale’s Effective Altruism community and the Roosevelt Institute, a student public policy research group.

Emily hails from Rockville, Maryland, and graduated from the International Baccalaureate program at Richard Montgomery High School. She will be spending her downtime this summer reading, paying visits to the art museum, and exploring local parks.
