Beware of suspicious emails
Please be alert to emails with attachments regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) updates and/or emails offering you a ‘gift’.
There are several phishing emails going around that include attachments with malware, so extra attention and caution should be taken before opening up any attachments.
On Friday, The Blade also received phishing emails with supposed invoices attached. These are emails from an “Amanda King”, saying she is sending papers on an employee and from a “Holly Peters” (former employee), who wants to ‘gift’ you with a gift card by clicking on a link.
Please DO NOT click on any URLs from unidentified sources or open files (PDF’s or otherwise) from sources that you are not expecting.
The hackers are ramping up their attacks to both personal and corporate email accounts trying to install ransomware. Always look at the email address to verify it is a legitimate email address.
