Blade reporters win honors for environment, politics coverage
Two Blade journalists have been recognized for their work covering the Great Lakes and politics.
Tom Henry, a Blade reporter since 1993, received a Great Lakes Leadership Award for Communication Excellence. The Great Lakes Protection Fund, which confers the honor, said in a statement that Mr. Henry through his writing “helps people understand their connections to nature while holding policymakers accountable for keeping water clean and accessible to everyone.”
The fund was created as a private nonprofit corporation in 1989 by governors of the Great Lakes states through a pledge of $97 million to help protect and restore their shared lakes resources.
Liz Skalka, The Blade’s politics writer since 2018, is among Ohio reporters whom Washington Post readers should follow this election year, according to the Fix, the Post’s politics blog.
