Mester, Kaplan, Morrison win September Eddy Awards
Alex Mester won the News Eddy, Phil Kaplan was awarded the Desk Eddy and the Visual Eddy went to photographer Andy Morrison. All winners were involved in impressive special Blade projects.
Linkhorn, Balog, Zapotosky win August Eddys
The News Eddy goes to Tyrel Linkhorn, Alicia Balog receives the Desk Eddy. and Dave Zapotosky captures the Visual Eddy. Nominations for the September Eddy Awards can be made at any time, but must be submitted to Luann by noon Friday, Sept. 30.
July Eddy Awards with some twists
Tom Troy and Kyle Rowland won News Eddy in July. Rona Proudfoot won the Desk Eddy and Andy Morrison won the Visual Eddy. But there was so much good work on great stories that we awarded Subway gift cards to 11 other staffers.
Henry, McCray, Basting win June Eddy Awards
Tom Henry won the News Eddy for his handling of the Cincinnati Zoo gorilla issue and for a local reaction piece to the death of boxing great Muhammad Ali. Vanessa McCray won the Desk Eddy for serving as the Night City Editor for a week, but was still able to produce two breaking news stories. Jeff Basting won the Visual Eddy for tackling 17 graphics for the Ohio Media Project.
