Courtesy title reminder
Please remember that The Blade uses courtesy titles in stories, and that when interviewing women you are to ask them which courtesy title they want used.
— Dave Murray
From The Blade Stylebook
Use Ms. when requested by the woman. Women should be afforded the courtesy title they desire in The Blade. Our policy has been to ask women what they prefer to be called on second reference, Miss, Mrs., or Ms., unless they have some other title such as medical doctor. For example, Marcy Kaptur, our U.S. representative, prefers to be known as Miss Kaptur on succeeding references. Do not use Ms. as a default position. Be sure to ask what courtesy title is preferred.
