Emailing Post Notes when filing stories
Some staffers are unclear with the digital Post-Note format, which needs to be replicated exactly for a number of internal metric triggers. A Post Note needs to be done for every story that is ready for digital publication.
Below is an example of the Post-Note format:
Send to: [email protected] (this is a change from digitalteam)
Subject line: Post: [paste full headline here]
* Note: “Post:” must appear exactly like that, with the capital P and the colon.
Email Body:
[SLUG]
[PUBLISH STATUS, DATE]
* Note: Include when the story went live or should go live. If you don’t know, say ‘post immediately’ or ‘post time tbd’.
[URL IF AVAILABLE]
[ADDITIONAL DETAIL IF NECESSARY]
• Note: Advise here if there is a video or more to come, or any other pertinent extenuating circumstances regarding your story.
