Feehan, Wetzler, Steiss win February Eddys
Jennifer Feehan wins the News Eddy for two major pieces in the month of February. She was the first to write about the possible prison release of serial murderer Nathaniel Cook. It was a compelling read that generated intense public interest/debate and which was followed by other media.
Jennifer also broke the story about arrests of those who are accused of making and selling fake IDs through Reddit.
Todd Wetzler, who celebrated his 25th anniversary at The Blade in February, receives the Desk Eddy for his day-in-and-day-out workmanship as wire editor. He does a great job of combing the wires and finding stories of interest.
He then combines or edits those stories into usable pieces for our readers. He does the job well and with vigor.
Kurt Steiss wins the Visual Eddy for his coverage of the University of Toledo men’s basketball road trip. To get the best look at his work, you should view his online photo gallery. Click here to check out the shot with the socks:
March Eddy nominees are due to Kim Bates by 5 p.m. Friday, March 30.
