Meet Catriona Kendall
Catriona is The Blade’s newest addition to the copy desk.
She graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in August 2019 with a degree in culture and politics, focused specifically on the myriad ways we use language.
Catriona discovered her favorite way to use language, journalism, while working at The Hoya, Georgetown’s student newspaper, in the copy section and later as managing editor.
Her greatest feats at The Hoya include submitting a question to AP Stylebook on how to stylize “meat lovers pizza,” dressing as a newsie for Halloween, and trying to sneakily copy edit breaking news during class.
After graduating early from Georgetown, Catriona lived in Tanzania and then New Zealand for several months before returning home to New Jersey to greet the pandemic.
While working as a copy editor for both Georgetown’s Free Speech Project and a small book publishing company, she has spent the lockdown trying to stop her two kittens from destroying everything she owns and hoping in vain that the Washington Capitals wouldn’t get eliminated from the playoffs.
Welcome to The Blade, Catriona. Her email address is [email protected].
