Meet Chantal Eulenstein

Chantal Eulenstein

Chantal Eulenstein is a newsroom intern at The Blade and is a rising sophomore at Yale University. Originally from Ames, Iowa, she is very excited to be reporting in the Midwest this summer!

At Yale, Chantal is an associate editor at The New Journal, a longform magazine focusing on narrative journalism, investigative reporting, and creative work about Yale and New Haven. Chantal is also a city reporter for the Yale Daily News, where she has covered local alder elections and the appointment of New Haven’s new police chief. Chantal also writes and edits for The Politic, Yale’s political publication, and this past year wrote a feature for The New Journal about noise and bikers in New Haven.

Chantal hopes to major in English and American Studies, and to pursue a career in journalism after college.

Outside of journalism, Chantal is part of Yale’s Brazil club, where she enjoys cooking and celebrating holidays with other Brazilians and Brazilian-Americans at Yale. She also enjoys writing creatively, reading memoirs and fiction, and learning new recipes from her mother. Her recent favorite reads have been Minor Characters by Joyce Johnson and Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart.
