Meet Ed Wright

Ed was born and raised in Lansing, Mich. He earned a journalism degree from Central Michigan University, where he worked as a sports writer for the CM Life.

Ed is a member of the digital team.

Ed served two stints as a sports editor/writer for a suburban Detroit-based division of Gannett Co., Inc. from 2004 to 2016. He also owned and operated a community-sports website — PlymouthCantonSports.com — from August 2009 to February 2011.

During his time at Gannett, Ed earned the Company’s Journalist of the Year award in 2006, along with several Michigan Press Association and Suburban Newspapers of America writing and editing awards.

Ed and his wife of 31 years, Laura, are the proud parents of three sons: Erik (27), Brandon (24), and Ben (16).They reside in Canton, Mich.

Ed’s hobbies include running, coaching travel basketball, and serving as a youth basketball referee.
