Meet Gabby Deutch
Born in Cleveland, I am very excited to return to my Ohio roots this summer in Toledo. I grew up in Boca Raton, Fla., and I just finished my sophomore year at Yale University, where I study political history.
At Yale, I’m an associate editor of The Politic, an undergraduate political magazine. I’ve written about a range of topics, from the politics behind music streaming to the Armenian genocide to religious Jewish feminists.
I spent the last two summers as a camp counselor in rural Georgia, so I’m excited to spend this summer back in the “real world.” I have also worked in the publishing world with an internship at Yale University Press.
Aside from writing, I am an active member of the Jewish community. Next year, I’ll be the president of Yale Hillel, the undergraduate Jewish student group. I also spend too much time following the 2016 presidential race, a bad habit I try to temper with upbeat Spotify playlists and runs.
I look forward to my summer at The Blade and discovering this city.
