Meet intern Ahmed Elbenni
Ahmed is a student at Yale University and is working as a newsroom intern this summer.
Although born in Egypt, he has spent most of his life in New York and central New Jersey. He is currently pursuing bachelor’s degrees in history and political science.
While on-campus, Ahmed reports for the school newspaper, the Yale Daily News, and its Magazine and Weekend branches, the latter of which specialize in longer creative and reported nonfiction pieces. He also is an associate editor at The Yale Politic and an online editor for the The Yale Globalist. Aside campus publications, Ahmed has written for College Cultured, an online guidance counseling blog for high school and college students.
While Ahmed has tended to focus his writing on religion, politics, and science, he enjoys exploring new topics and believes such adventuring is one of the most essential (and most enjoyable) part of the journalistic experience.
Aside from reading books, Ahmed spends his free time playing table tennis and soccer. He also loves taking pictures of the outdoors (with his iPhone, because he’s not a professional photographer even if he likes to imagine otherwise). In addition, he dabbles in video editing and stop-motion animation.
Ahmed’s Blade email is [email protected] and his work extension is 6050. Welcome, Ahmed.
