Meet Jonathan Aguilar

Jonathan joins The Blade as a staff photographer.

Jonathan attended DePaul University for his bachelor’s degree in journalism. After freelancing for a year in Chicago, Jonathan attended the Medill School of Journalism for his master’s degree in journalism, graduating in 2022.

As a driven and socially-conscious photojournalist, his mission is to capture powerful and authentic stories that highlight the experiences of underrepresented communities. He aims to showcase diverse voices and perspectives, promoting greater empathy and understanding among all people.

With fluency in Spanish and deep cultural roots as a Latine individual, he brings a unique perspective and an unwavering commitment to capturing the truth, no matter where it takes him.
