Meet Maddie Coppel
Hi! I’m Maddie and I am a born and raised Ohioan. I am originally from the small town of Chillicothe, but I spent my college years at The Ohio State University studying agricultural communication. I just recently graduated from OSU in May, and I am eager to start my adventure at The Blade as the new features food editor!
During my time at Ohio State, I interned at The Perennial Homestead in Omaha, Nebraska, where I worked closely with recipe and product development and sustainable farming efforts. I also studied abroad in Perugia, Italy, under a Food, Sustainability, and the Environment program, where I took cooking classes, toured local vineyards and farms, and fell in love with Italian cuisine.
In my free time, I love trying new restaurants and creating new recipes, reading anything from fantasy to rom-coms, and spending any given moment at a local coffee shop.
I am so excited to explore all that Toledo has to offer and, of course, find all of the hidden foodie gems throughout the city!
