Meet Rob Garcia

Rob Garcia is one of several new members to The Blade’s Digital and NewsSlide team.

He hails from the far-off land of Austin,Texas, where he worked at the GateHouse Media’s Center for News and Design. For his three years there, Rob has worked with dozens of newspapers around the country — most notably The Columbus Dispatch.

Rob grew up in Chicago and studied journalism at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He knows the special kind of misery that is being a White Sox fan and is a more passionate supporter of the Blackhawks.

Outside of work, Rob enjoys living the life of a film nerd. He’ll be both your best friend and worst enemy on trivia nights over the coming months.

He answer to both “Rob” and “Robert,” but all variations of “Bob” are highly problematic.
