STYLE SNAPSHOTS: AW Trail, AW Bridge, and datelines
ANTHONY WAYNE TRAIL, ANTHONY WAYNE BRIDGE
The Anthony Wayne Trail is the boulevard-style roadway that runs from the southern edge of downtown Toledo out through South Toledo and Maumee toward Waterville. It carries State Rt. 25 from downtown to central Maumee and U.S. 24 from the Maumee-Toledo border to Waterville. The name continues along the old roadway through Waterville, while U.S. 24 now follows a bypass route around Waterville.
The Anthony Wayne Bridge is the 1930-vintage suspension bridge across the Maumee River just upstream from downtown, near the main post office on the downtown side. It connects Clayton Street on the downtown side of the river with Woodville Road in East Toledo. It carries State Rts. 2, 51, and 65.
While they share a name, the Anthony Wayne Bridge and the Anthony Wayne Trail are not parts of the same roadway and do not even directly connect.
