Third-quarter Eddy Award winners
We have many people to recognize for fine work over the past quarter.
After these, please note we’re going to roll out a new and improved Eddy-type process. We’ll share more on that later.
Each winner receives a $50 gift card of his or her choice.
- Amy Voigt, for capturing the gleeful mayor-on-a-scooter shot that was an instant Internet sensation.
- David Briggs, who wrote the touching column about a 9-year-old youth who applied to become a ball boy.
- Ahmed Elbenni, for his first-person piece about growing up post 9/11 and for his live coverage and photographs in New York City.
- Heather Denniss, for starting the new classics column and also for writing-related reviews.
- Joe Landsberger, for the visual and digital displays with graphics/data for the Under Fire shooting series.
- Andy Wolf, for adjusting his schedule on multiple occasions to help the digital team and sports desk.
- Ron Seibel, for taking the lead in putting together lists of top Friday night football players.
- Rona Proudfoot, for catching duplicate stories in different sections of the paper, prior to publishing, and for handling the Solheim Cup section. Kyle Rowland, for strong Solheim Cup section coverage and live reporting.
- Luke Ramseth, for a series of solid business reporting, including the well-read piece about Biggby Coffee employees.
- Emily DiAlbert and Catriona Kendall, for excellence in copy editing and great diversity in job performance. Between the two, they have worked the following jobs: rim, wire editor, A1 designer, BTN, Sunday Business, X page, editorial page, page proofing, and more.
