Use naloxone, not NARCAN

Please use the generic drug name naloxone when writing about the medication to reverse opioid overdoses.

Do not use “Narcan”, because NARCAN® Nasal Spray is a registered trademark and we do not want to violate the trademark.

Unless we are writing a story about NARCAN® Nasal Spray, or we emphatically know it is NARCAN, use the generic name, naloxone.
