Blade wins Cleveland Press Club awards
We have several award winners (and others we haven’t been told about yet) in The Press Club of Cleveland competition. The additional winners, and placement of those listed here, will be revealed at a June 1 awards event in Cleveland.
- The staff won for breaking news: consecutive days, same topic for our coverage of the Charlottesville rally.
- Nolan Rosenkrans and Sarah Elms won in the open politics/government category for the story about Patrick Hickey “15 letter details concerns.”
- Lauren Lindstrom placed in the investigative category for her work on lead contamination in Toledo and Ohio.
- Kirk Walters won in the single cartoon category for Ohio Farm Bureau.
- Geoff Burns was recognized in the general features area for Ties that Bind, which was his piece on living without social media.
- Jeff Basting won twice for his page designs. Those are Welcome to Our World and also Nature’s Undertakers.
