Meet Kate Mitchell

Kate is joining The Blade from The Daily Telegram in Adrian, Mich., where she was digital and magazine editor.

While at The Telegram, she was recognized for web presence and business writing by the APME and was named digital leader of the year for GateHouse Media.

Originally from Dallas, Kate moved to the Midwest to attend college at Eastern Michigan University, where she graduated with a BS in journalism. Upon graduation, she worked for the Traverse City Record Eagle as a paginator before moving to the Wisconsin State Journal to design pages for the regional design center there.

Currently, she also oversees the student newspaper at EMU and, in her spare time, loves writing, and watching movies. Kate’s excited for her new adventure at The Blade.
