Meet Ashley Bastock

Ashley is joining The Blade after freelancing for the last 18 months in Cleveland for AP, SB Nation, and NEOSportsInsiders.com. While freelancing, she covered the Cavs, Indians, Browns, and local high school sports.

Prior to beginning work as a freelancer, Ashley spent nearly two years in Washington at NBC’s Meet the Press, where she served as a Tim Russert Fellow for 10 months before becoming a production assistant.

Originally from Amherst, Ohio, Ashley graduated from John Carroll University in 2015 with a BA in communications (journalism) and minors in political science and English. While at JCU, she was also a member of the varsity women’s basketball team along with participating in the campus newspaper, TV station, and radio station.

In her spare time, Ashley loves working out (including still occasionally playing basketball), and following pop culture.
