December Eddy Award winners
The December 2016 Eddy Award winners have been selected.

Nick Piotrowicz
Nick Piotrowicz takes home the News Eddy for his coverage — more than 16 stories in a week — on the Ohio State bowl front, which netted an interesting A1 piece about population shift and how OSU benefitted in South Carolina, the home of Clemson University: that is until the Buckeyes played the game.

Matt Swan
The Desk Eddy goes to Matt Swan, for excellence in a variety of roles, including wire editor, B section paginator, sports paginator, copy editor, and eBlade expert. Matt’s versatility across a variety of subjects, including politics, news, sports, and entertainment, makes him a valued employee.

Amy Voigt
The winner of the Visual Eddy is Amy Voigt for spotting and shooting a young man in mid-December who was building a snowman sitting in a wheelchair. Her eagle eye resulted in a nice story about a family that fosters and adopts special needs children.
Each receives a $50 gas card.
Nominations for January Eddy Awards can be made at any time during the month but must be submitted to Luann no later than noon Tuesday, Jan. 31.
