Meet intern Matthew Youkilis

My name is Matthew, and I am an intern this summer with The Blade.

I was born and raised 200 miles down I-75 in Cincinnati, and I am excited to experience life in another Ohio city this summer.

I am currently an incoming junior at Yale University majoring in history, and I especially enjoy political history and writing. Outside of class, I’ve written and edited for The Politic, Yale’s long-form political journal, and I’ve been involved with various political organizations.

I’m looking forward to learning about and reporting on Toledo while discovering the hidden gems the city has to offer. In my free time, I like to read, get outdoors, and root for my (struggling) Cincinnati Reds.
