Jordie Henry, Noah Ripley win Eddy Awards
We’re pleased to announce Jordie Henry and Noah Ripley as our Eddy Award winners for August and September. They will each get to choose a food item to share with the newsroom.
Jordie Henry’s first stint at The Blade was as a features and state desk reporter in the mid-1990s. After time off to have her children, she returned in 2008 as Head Librarian. If you’re looking for a vintage photo or clip file (remember Merlin only goes back to 1996), Jordie is the one to see. She assembles newspapers for the bound volumes you find in the library, works with staff and visitors who need to do research on the microfiche machine, works with Jackie Powell to assemble newsroom contest entries, and keeps her hand in the reporting world by writing the weekly Monday Memories feature. We won’t call her a Jill of All Trades, but she comes close.
Noah Ripley joined The Blade in August 2021 and has made himself an indispensable part of the production team. In addition to being charged with laying out and clearing daily features pages, including Peach Plus, he handles the bulk of Weekender pages and Sunday pages. He can also be found doing Magazine and Town pages. Noah has also jumped in to produce the primary Sunday Behind the News cover/jump and is responsible for making sure all Peach Eblade and print pages get to their intended destination. Noah’s willingness to help with the production of other sections, when needed, is greatly appreciated.
